The main auditorium is now sold out for Dr. Jane Goodall's keynote presentation. We will continue to sell tickets for a simulcast viewing of her presentation in an adjacent auditorium. We anticipate that a few seats will become available in the main auditorium, which will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis immediately preceding the talk. All Expo attendees will have the opportunity to hear Dr. Goodall speak, either live or via simulcast, and participate in the book signing directly following Dr. Goodall's presentation.

Am I guaranteed to see Dr. Goodall's presentation if I purchase a ticket?
The main auditorium where Dr. Goodall will be speaking has 600 seats and we fully expect this to sell out. These tickets will be given on a first come first serve basis and may be gone as early as mid-September. Blue wristbands will be given to the first 600 seats sold. Those holding a blue wristband can expect a seat in the auditorium with Dr. Goodall provided you are in line at the auditorium by 12:15pm sharp. If you receive a yellow wristband, you are guaranteed a seat in a different auditorium where Dr. Goodall’s presentation will be simulcast to the large video screen. Both wristband colors also allow you access to all the other presentations, shopping, and information gathering.

Can I buy tickets at the door for the Expo?
Yes, tickets can be purchased at the door on Saturday, October 3. The price is the same as advanced purchase tickets. Tickets purchased the day of the event are not guaranteed to see Dr. Goodall’s presentation in person. We expect Dr. Goodall’s talk to sell out early so all tickets sold the day of the event will likely be for the simulcast room (see further details in question above).

Is my Expo ticket purchase a tax-deductible donation?
No, the Fair Market Value of the event is the face value of the ticket. However any donation made in excess of the ticket purchase price is fully tax-deductible. 100% of designated donations to WCN-supported projects goes directly to the field.

Why is there no Gala dinner on the Friday night prior to the Expo this year?
We are taking a break from the Gala dinner again this year. Instead, we have decided to host a small and intimate reception for our most generous donors; those that gave us $10,000 or more in 2008 and/or 2009. We hope that you will still join us at the Garden Party which is always a great day filled with music, conversation, and delicious food.

Is the Expo easy to find?
Yes! The Expo is located near AT&T Park, at the eastern edge of the city. It can be easily accessed from the major freeways and public transportation. Please click here for directions.

Is there parking at the Expo?
Yes! There is plenty of parking for Expo guests and participants. There are two large parking garages in the area. The Mission Bay Conference Center (Expo venue) has its own attached multi-level garage. Parking is $3 per hour. There is a second surface-level garage located one block east for $2 per day but this lot has minimal spaces available and we can not guarantee its availability.

Will there be food at the Expo?
Yes, there will be snacks and drinks available for purchase all day until 3:30pm. A boxed lunch will be available for purchase for $10 at the event. Lunch will be available from 1:00-2:00pm.

Why are there two venues at the Expo with simultaneous presentations?
We recognize that this is a frustration for some people who want to see all the conservationists speak. This format is necessary to accommodate all our speakers in a one-day format. However, the good news is that DVD's of all the Expo presentations will be available for sale shortly after the Expo ($35 for the complete set). To order a set, please contact Stuff Marshall at stuff@wildnet.org or 650-949-3533.

Can I bring my kids?
Children are welcome at the Expo, however, the presentations are geared towards adults. Children over 8 years old may find some of the presentations interesting. Children must be supervised at all times.
